Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment necessary! Each visitor will be seen as volunteer attorneys become available.
In order to make sure everyone gets a chance to speak to an attorney, please arrive by 10:45 am.
What can I expect?
When you arrive at the Pop-up Clinic, you will be greeted by a volunteer who will ask you to fill out a form. The form will help us match you with the best attorney for your question.
Have a seat in the waiting area and wait for a volunteer to call your name. Once an attorney becomes available, you’ll join them at their table to talk about your question.
The attorney you speak with is not your attorney, and they do not represent you. They are there to help by giving legal advice on the day of the Pop-up Clinic. When you sit down with your volunteer attorney, you will have a chance to explain your question. Show them any papers you brought with you, and they will give you legal advice.
After you get legal advice, the volunteer attorney may refer you to Court Navigation, a private attorney, or another resource.
What should I bring with me?
You should bring any important papers that are related to your question.
If you need to get a paper notarized, bring a valid form of ID.
